NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX is a mouthful of a product brand that was launched on May 31, 2026 by NVIDIA.1 Its highlight features were new libraries around security features:

  • NVIDIA DOCA Vault - intercepts file traffic and can inspect or enforce policy
  • NVIDIA DOCA Argus - inspects host memory and reports to an external security platform
  • NVIDIA DOCA Flow - intercepts network traffic and can inspect or enforce policy

NVIDIA positioned these as mechanisms to enforce policy on agents within the BlueField-4’s trust domain. By sniffing all file and network traffic, and by inspecting host memory, it can detect when agents are trying to do bad things and either notify an external security system (to take action) or deny the request in-silicon.

Launch partners

  • DDN says it “aligns with new AI infrastructure innovations…including NVIDIA Vera BlueField-4 STX.”2 There is no actual integration mentioned.
  • MinIO says it will “enforce continuous, inline security at the S3 layer via NVIDIA DOCA Vault…” except DOCA Vault doesn’t support S3. It is strictly file-only due to its dependence on virtio-fs.3 This means MinIO is actually incompatible with Vera BlueField-4 STX.
  • WEKA says Vera BlueField-4 STX can be “paired with NeuralMesh and Augmented Memory Grid” so that BlueField-4 can perform policy enforcement and WEKA can serve up KV cache fast. But there’s no specific integration mentioned.4
  • VAST outlined an architecture where PolicyEngine delegates some policy enforcement to BlueField-4 STX and integrates with CrowdStrike Falcon to ensure policies are responsive to changes in the governed agent interactions.5 There is a reasonable architectural vision here (disclosure: I helped create it).
