Google Docs is a poor substitute for Microsoft Word.

Google Docs

There’s no way to view suggestions in a way that is readable (e.g., hide suggested deletions).1 This is why documents edited in Google Docs need to have spurious double/missing spaces specially handled after changes are accepted.

Google Slides

Text fill cannot have gradients, which breaks many corporate templates. This is especially nefarious when someone edits a pptx file in GSlides and makes a change; the underlying pptx is permanently stripped of its text gradients, effectively corrupting the presentation.
