AMD Helios is a rack-scale AI compute platform that integrates MI455X GPUs, Venice CPUs, a Broadcom-co-designed HPE Juniper scale-up UALoE switch, and Pensando Vulcano NICs to deliver up to 2.9 EF FP4 per rack.
Rack-scale AI architecture jointly developed by AMD and HPE:
- AMD MI455X GPUs
- AMD Venice CPUs
- AMD Pensando Vulcano Ethernet NICs for east-west (frontend) traffic
- Purpose-built Broadcom Ethernet scale-up switch (to compete with NVSwitch)
- Co-developed between HPE Juniper and Broadcom
- Uses Ultra Accelerator Link over Ethernet (UALoE)
- Compliant with OCP Open Rack Wide specifications
HPE will offer Helios worldwide in 2026, before the Cray GX5000 ships in 2027.
